According to the magazine the members of the “Academy” are given three votes and presented with a list of previous winners and other well-known brands. They are then charged with the task of voting for wines that: “are of consistent or improving quality, reflect its region of country of origin, respond to the needs and taste of its target audience, be well marketed and packaged and should have strong appeal to a wide demographic.”

Commenting on the achievement, company Chairman Mauricio González-Gordon, said, “We continue to strive to ensure that González Byass is at the forefront of the category by investing in our brands and innovating with the launch of initiatives such as Tío Pepe En Rama and Las Palmas special releases.” He continued, “We are delighted to have received this recognition from Drinks International and to have ticked all the boxes when it comes to quality, consistency authenticity and renown. To be ranked as the top Sherry in the “World’s Most Admired Wine Brands” is a great achievement.”
