Tales from Waipara Springs Left ConatinerWaipara Springs is a boutique vineyard situated in the heart of Waipara valley. Established in 1982 by the Moore and Grant families with the planting of the first vines in the region. Bruce Moore widely regarded as a pioneer of viticulture combined with extensive local knowledge, identified the unique opportunity to produce award winning wines from the rich limestone clay soils the region is so well known for; Waipara Springs was born. The vineyard contains some of the oldest vines both within the Waipara valley and throughout NZ, providing the entirely estate grown wines with a depth and intensity only old vines can produce. Our Mendoza clone Chardonnay among other varietals continues to produce award winning vintages and has been recognised both nationally and internationally. In the early 1990’s Waipara Springs aligned with Negociants NZ in an exclusive relationship to expand both market presence and representation within New Zealand. A successful relationship spanning over 20 years, Waipara Springs and The Springs labels are now regularly featured in high profile restaurants, hotels and supermarket shelves throughout NZ. In a diverse, ever-evolving and very competitive market it is a real pleasure to be aligned with the Negociants team; whose knowledge, experience and understanding of market conditions and trends has been instrumental to the success and presence and movement of our wine labels during this period. With an exciting and exceptional 2015 harvest our continued association with NNZ will present many exciting opportunities and collaborations. Andrew Moore 30 years of winemaking.
